Key Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee Technical Quality of all Mammography and Breast Ultrasound exams and procedures
o With over site by radiologist, establish and maintain protocols for all exams
• Ensures that all protocols, policies, and procedures are communicated to all IICA and IIAPS sites
• Ensure all protocols are loaded on all scanners in sites staffed by IIA employees.
• Ensure that IIA staff are trained to perform all exams according to appropriate protocols
o May provide protocol training upon initial implementation of IIAPS Professional Services contracts if requested by the site.
o Attends after hours sub-specialty section meetings appropriate to this modality
• Prepare data and participate in discussion as appropriate
o Develop department specific quality criteria and processes to measure compliance
• Analyze quality assurance data and enact changes in service levels, procedure, and methods to take corrective action when indicated.
o Oversee ACR Accreditation, MQSA and FDA certification of all IICA sites
• Perform all ACR and government required processes for IICA equipment to ensure successful accreditation to include but not limited to applications, image selection, protocol compliance, submission paperwork, follow up recommendations, etc.
• Assist other IIAPS sites with Accreditation and/or certification when requested
o Gather and report statistical audit data for all IIAPS Radiologists and IICA staffed sites as required by MQSA.
o Maintains standards of all regulatory bodies

• Oversee Operations in the Breast Imaging Department where IICA has a Staffing and Management contract
o Patient care
• Ensure all patients receive quality care and service

• Maintain the ability to provide direct patient care in Mammography and/or Breast Ultrasound.
• Investigate, document, and follow up all patient care incidents.
o Works will Billing Department to ensure coding accuracy to maximize reimbursement
o Works with Scheduling Department to establish scheduling guidelines

• Educate scheduling staff on appropriateness of exam per clinical indication
• Monitoring volumes and scheduling backlogs
• Be available to answer questions during regular working hours
o Staffing
• Direct supervision of the IICA Team Leaders (4), who manage all Technologists and Assistants at multiple locations
? Coaches, mentors, trains, disciplines Breast Imaging Team Leaders
? Meet with Team Leaders regularly (no less than bi-monthly)
? Be available to answer questions and concerns during regular working hours
? Perform Team Leader performance evaluations
? Oversee daily operations in the Team Leader’s absence
? Oversee regularly scheduled department meetings
• Indirectly supervise approximately 30 staff members.
? Be a resource to answer questions and concerns during regular working hours
? Establish training guidelines
? Participate in the staff performance evaluations
? Coach, mentor, and assist with training of all staff
? Participate in the hiring process for all positions
? Discipline and termination documentation and facilitation
• Establish and maintain appropriate staffing levels in Breast Imaging departments
? Work with other department managers to cross-cover whenever possible
? Adjust staffing as warranted by patient volume
• Acts as a resource for questions from all Breast Imaging staff regarding equipment, supplies, protocols, etc
• Routinely rotates to all locations where IICA staff are providing Breast Imaging services
o Supplies
• Evaluate appropriate supplies to be used in the department
• Negotiate bulk purchasing contracts ie: contrast, supplies, etc…
• Establish ordering guidelines for each location
• Assist with formulating supply budget annually
• Collaborate with all potential vendors
o Equipment
• Participates in capital purchasing decision making process
? Research options for new equipment
? Oversee quote development and contract terms with vendors ie: education, equipment, upgrades (hardware and software), service
? Participates in site visits
? Participates in pricing negotiations
• Ensure staff are properly trained for use of new equipment
? Schedule and participate in applications training with vendor representatives and IICA staff
• Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately
? Participate in equipment service contract negotiations
? Establish equipment downtime procedures
? Ensure proper documentation of service to meet MQSA/FDA/ACR guidelines
o Research projects and protocols
• Establish protocol compatibility
• Perform test scans
• Set up exam codes / establish reimbursement

o Collaborates with Customer Service

• Address patient service issues and concerns
• Assist with the development and updating of referral physician order processes
• Answer customer questions and concerns during regular working hours
• Assist in any customer service needs throughout the organization
o Collaborate with Marketing Department
• Research new market opportunities
Evaluate trends, regulatory changes, and technologies
• Recommend modification to existing programs and services
• Participates in various marketing events
• Assist in developing marketing materials ie; handouts, social media, website, articles, etc…
• Answer questions and concerns during regular working hours
• Participate in the development and follow through of a 1 – 3 year department plan consistent with IIALLC strategic plans

• Actively participates in the Overall Success of the Inland Imaging family of companies
o Participate in Strategic Planning
o Participates in the implementation of special project as assigned or volunteered in align with the strategic plans
o Participate in development of policies and procedures that apply to all departments
• Attend and actively participates in monthly manager meetings
• Attend and actively participate in monthly team leader meeting
• Attend and actively participates in all site meetings as appropriate
o May be asked to visit IIAPS contracted sites when requested and upon approval by the site administration and IICA/PS administration
o Maintain personable and helpful relationship with IIAPS contracted site staff so they feel comfortable calling with questions.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Management or other related field.
• Experience:
o Three years experience as a working technologist
o Three years management level experience
o Anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
o Medical office experience preferred.
o Understanding of Breast Imaging procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
• Licensure: Registered technologist in Mammography and/or Breast Ultrasound; Must maintain current Washington State licensure
• Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Kronos; Replicon; Imagecast; Stentor; IDXterm; Flowcast; Allscripts; Intranet
